About the Job

Ablitech Inc. is hiring a leader with an established track record as a principal investigator on NIH grants related to gene silencing, oligonucleotides or drug delivery. The R&D Director will have primary responsibility for securing federal grants to forward Ablitech's expertise in delivery vehicles for siRNA and pursue opportunities to broaden the corporation's research portfolio. In addition, the R&D Director will provide strategic oversight to the corporation's laboratory operations.

Ablitech, Inc. develops radical methods for healing the human body by combining cutting edge knowledge and technology in polymer science, molecular biology and medicinal chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Securing NIH and other federal grants for forwarding the corporation's technology platforms.

• Setting strategy for research and development efforts.

• Project planning.

• Ensure requirements of laboratory safety protocols are followed.

• Manage resources to meet project timelines.

• Support animal and bench testing and clinical evaluations.

• Define product specifications and supportive testing.

• Develop test methods as necessary.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or other life science related field.

• Top tier journal publications on gene silencing, oligonucleotides and/or drug delivery.

• Prior track record of securing multiple NIH grants.

• Ability to be a leader in development of novel innovative products.

• Experience in leading, motivating, training research staff.

• Ability to develop goals and priorities in the implementation of new products.

• 5-15 years experience.

• Experience in regulatory affairs is a plus.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
