Ken Malone, Phd.

Malone is Director of The Trent Lott National Center of Excellence for Economic Development & Entrepreneurship at The University of Southern Mississippi where he specializes in the study of technology transfer and economic development finance for innovation companies. Prior to joining the Lott Center, he was COO of the Southern Miss Gulf Coast campuses and led the growth of the campuses from 1,700 students to just under 3,000 in a eighteen months.
Malone has broad experience in the specialty and fine chemical industry including manufacturing, product development, finance, marketing and business management. He led several successful M&A activities as director of finance and strategic planning for a half billion dollar global chemical operation. As business manager of a multinational joint venture, he implemented new technology to turn around a JV which had failed to make a profit since its inception over a decade before. Among his other earlier successes were two inventions which he lead successfully through the patent process and to commercial success.
Malone has a PhD in Polymer Science from The University of Southern Mississippi and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Miami.

Lisa kemp, Phd.

Lisa Kemp co-founded Ablitech in 2006 as its initial COO and current serves as its Chief Science Officer.
She has industrial work experience in the polymer coatings field as an R&D Chemist. During her time in industry, she developed three new coatings technologies and played a key role in bringing two of them from lab-scale to full-scale production. She currently holds two patents, one of which has seen commercial success with revenues greater than $5.5 million. Kemp is currently the PI for an NSF funded SBIR Phase I project developing new drug releasing biocompatible materials.
Kemp holds a BS degree in Polymer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and a PhD in Polymer Science with a Technology Commercialization focus.

nick hammond, PHD.

Hammond co-founded Ablitech in 2006 as its initial CEO. Hammond has experience in the biomedical field working with both small animal research and basic research involving neovascularization pathways and vascular endothelialization. Hammond has experience in the discovery of novel pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of disease and also has extensive work experience in analytical techniques, small molecule synthesis and the development of analytical protocols.
Hammond holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from The University of Mississippi and a BS in Biology and Chemistry from Butler University. |
