Ken Ken Malone, Phd.

Malone has founded or been an officer of five biotechnology or advanced materials companies. He has led M&A activities valued at over two hundred million dollars, secured over $30 million in federal funding and successfully patented and commercialized dozens of new products. His broad based private sector experiences include manufacturing, product development, finance, marketing and business management for global corporations. In the public sector, Malone was the founding Director of the Trent Lott National Center for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship and was a Chief Operating Officer of the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast. Malone has a PhD in Polymer Science from The University of Southern Mississippi and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Miami.



Lisa kemp, Phd.

Dr. Lisa K. Kemp co-founded Ablitech in 2006 and currently serves as its Chief Science Officer.  Prior to obtaining her PhD, Lisa gained industrial work experience in the polymer coatings field as an R&D Chemist at McWhorter Technologies and Eastman Chemical Company.  During her time in industry, she developed several new coatings technologies and played a key role in bringing two of those technologies from lab-scale to full-scale production.

 Lisa currently holds two issued patents (US Patent 6,306,956 and US Pat 7,052,540), one of which has seen commercial success with revenues greater than $5.5 million.  She is also coinventor on three patent applications.  Lisa holds a PhD in Polymer Science and Engineering with a Technology Commercialization focus from the University of Southern Mississippi.

 

nick hammond, PHD.

Dr. Nick Hammond co-founded Ablitech in 2006 as its initial CEO. Hammond has experience working with both small animal cancer models and basic  cell research involving neovascularization pathways. Hammond also has experience in the discovery of novel pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of disease and has extensive work experience in analytical techniques, small molecule synthesis and the development of analytical protocols.  Hammond has authored a number of scientific papers and presentations.  Hammond holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from The University of Mississippi and a BS in Biology and Chemistry from Butler University.

 

ALEX PARRISH , JD.

Alex Parrish has over 20 years of experience in different aspects of high technology businesses, having worked as a businessman with both start-up companies and industry leaders, and as a consultant or attorney with many other start-ups or established companies.

His responsibilities have included sales, executive and financial management (CEO and COO), the general counsel role, strategic partnerships, implementation of complex projects, strategy, and recruiting and training. He was an officer in the United States Army, and was a member of the board of trustees of Duke University. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke in political science and his law degree from Georgetown where he also took one year of coursework towards an MBA. He is the Company’s Vice President of Business Development.
