Research and Development

Thousands of labs around the world have developed gene silencing offering the potential to cure cancer and virtually every other disease.

These potential cures have failed to develop into commercial products because of difficulties delivering nucleic acids, RNAi, antisense DNA, past the body’s natural defense system and through the targeted cells membrane.

Until now.  Ablitech's scientists have developed Versadel – a delivery system that overcomes former delivery hurdles of gene silencing.  Versadel provides a non-toxic, biocompatible method for the systemic and local delivery of antisense DNA and siRNA in the body.

Information on how Versadel works can be found on the Core Technology page.

Initial laboratory trials under a Phase I, SBIR, verify that Ablitech’s product is adept at stopping affected cells from growing and demonstrates the ability to turn off selected protein production in cancer cells. Versadel is being primed toward investigation in an initial animal model. Currently, Ablitech is seeking partners for this endeavor.
